Real Madrid transfer news: Spanish expert reveals who club believe is their ‘PERFECT’ sign | Football | Sport

Real Madrid have made Eriksen, 26, their top target and they are preparing a £100million bid to get him.

The struggling La Liga giants are languishing fifth in the table and see Danish superstar Eriksen as the man who can inspire a revival.

Eriksen is out of contract in the summer of 2020 but talks over a new deal have been unproductive.

“There is no question whatsoever that Real Madrid see Eriksen as the perfect signing,” Hunter told the Transfer Talk podcast.

“They would add him to their squad this summer.

“I can’t tell you that they will be able to do that because I think everybody has learnt a very quick lesson as to how Daniel Levy conducts his transfer market negotiations.

“Although the power seat is always with the player and the buying club when a contract is running down in the way the Dane’s contract is at Spurs, frankly I don’t see too many indications from him that he’s desperate to renew.

“While I believe in Spurs’ financial power to be able to persuade him to stay, Daniel Levy’s regime is not one to say ‘don’t worry, we’ll outpay everyone else because we absolutely must retain you’.

“They’ve gone to the wire with Harry Kane but that’s a footballer who’s very keen to be at Spurs and, from what I understand, he wants to stay and break Jimmy Greaves’ scoring record.”

Hunter believes a move could happen as early as this summer and it could result in ex-Spurs man Luka Modric leaving for Serie A.

“Real Madrid wish to add Eriksen. While he’s not an identical player to Luka Modric, there are patent similarities,” he added.

“Modric, if he has his way, will move to Inter this summer.

“Eriksen’s likelihood at joining Real Madrid is something only Daniel Levy could answer.

“You asked me about Real Madrid and it’s absolutely crystal clear that one of Real Madrid’s highest priorities this summer is to try and sign Christian Eriksen.”
