The Lakers have made Davis their number one target to bolster their ranks around LeBron James.
It is widely reported Magic Johnson could offer up a number of his side’s young players to try and tempt New Orleans Pelicans to part ways with their star man.
But Ball, whose son Lonzo plays for the Lakers, insists the side is already good enough to challenge for the NBA Championship.
He also rubbished recent claims that James has been tampering by trying to convince Davis to make the move.
“I don’t know nothing about no tampering,” Ball told TMZ.
“No [it would not be cool if the Lakers signed Anthony Davis].
“They don’t need him, they have got enough people.
“LeBron is enough.
“I don’t care who Lonzo is playing with. The only people I want to see him play with is his brothers.
“It is going to happen.”
James added fuel to the Davis trade fire when he said it would be “incredible” to link up with the power forward.
But Davis played down talk of his exit.
“I don’t really care,” he said.
“Obviously, it’s cool to hear any high-caliber player say they want to play with me. But my job is to turn this team around. If we’re 15-17, that means I’m not doing my job.
“When that time comes, of course we will see.
“I love my team-mates. I love New Orleans. I love the fans. I talk their slang. I love their food.”
