Arsenal fans are demanding that Reiss Nelson is brought back in January after a classy brace in Hoffenheim’s 3-1 victory over Nuremberg.

Nelson had an impressive pre-season under new Arsenal manager Unai Emery but was keen to complete a temporary move to Hoffenheim once Julian Nagelsmann’s interest became known.

The 18-year-old has hit the ground running in Germany, scoring on his debut at Dusseldorf, and he also found the net in a a 2-1 defeat to Frankfurt before the international break.

Nelson then fired home a sensational free-kick in the England Under-21 side’s win over Scotland and took centre stage in the Bundelsiga on Saturday.

Earlier in the afternoon, Jadon Sancho scored Borussia Dortmund’s opener at Stuttgart and Nelson managed to upstage his pal with a clinical double.

Hanno Behrens broke the deadlock for Nuremberg before Nelson scored an emphatic seven-minute brace to give Hoffenheim the lead.

Adam Szalai put Nagelsmann’s men out of sight in the 67th minute.

Nelson joined Hoffenheim with the intention of staying there until the end of the season, but many Arsenal fans are now desperate for him to be recalled.
